The LDSS Trust Fund was established to support Lutheran religious or charitable purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. This support is accomplished through funding opportunities provided for projects supported by members of LDSS operating within a 50-mile radius of Sacramento.
LDSS was established when the Lutheran-based “Pleasant Ridge Home” was disbanded. The assets from the sale of this East Sacramento retirement home were dedicated to this trust fund in May 2002. The annually-elected trustees serve three-year terms and agree to hold, manage, and distribute funds annually up to 4% of the principal for the purpose of enhancing the ministry of Lutheran churches in the region.
